Shimla, March 28: The maximum temperature of Una soared to 37.9 degree Celsius on Monday, 7.8 degrees above normal, leading to heat wave in five districts, the Met Office said here. The maximum temperature in the state again rose by two-three degrees yesterday, while Una registered the highest of this season today at 37.8 degrees, 2.4 degrees high of yesterday, breaking the previous record of this season of March 22 of 37.5 degrees. The Met Office said that heat wave affected Shimla, Solan, Kullu, Mandi and Kangra districts and that the sweltering heat wave would continue in the next 24 hours. The maximum temperature of Bilaspur was recorded at 35 degrees, Mandi at 34.4 degrees, Hamirpur recorded 33.7 degrees, Nahan (Sirmour) 30.9 degrees, Chamba 33.5 degrees, Solan 32 degrees, Shimla 24.7 degrees, Kalpa (Kinnaur) 22.4 degrees and Keylong (Lahaul-Spiti) registered 16.8 degrees. It will be mainly dry and sunny in the next 24 hours in the state. (UNI)
