Himachal power board employees slam govt for pension delay
Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Employees Union has accused the Electricity Board management of unnecessary delay in revised pay scale and pension revision.
In a press statement here on Tuesday, the union gave an ultimatum to the board management. President of SEBEU Kuldeep Kharwada said that if the revised pay scales were not issued within seven days, they would cordon off the board headquarters, Kumar House here.
Kharwada stated that on the lines of Punjab Electricity Company, the pay band should be revised from October 2012 in the Electricity Board. He also gave pointers that the union was demanding.
The discrepancies raised in the revised pay scales by reducing the pay scale of the operator should be removed by restoring the old pay scale. All Junior Teammates and Junior Helpers to be notified for the post of Teammate and Helper with effect from January 2016.
The pay scale before the revision of 48 categories in the board – to be restored.
Former engineer and two-time member of District Shimla Grievance Redressal Committee RL Justa said that the pensioners of the Electricity Board became victims of wrong policy of Board Management.
In this regard, the government should issue orders correcting the policy immediately and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur must intervene to not amend the existing provision for board management. Any delay in this regard would cause displeasure to the government.
He said that the Electricity Board is the biggest undertaking of the State Government and its former employees and officers have been instrumental in making Himachal a power state. The pensioners of the Electricity Board, which made Himachal a power state, are longing for the revised pension, he added.
