Himachal CM assures Contract Police to look into their regularization demand

Shimla, Nov 28 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh contractual Police personnel staged protest outside the official residence of state Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur here on Sunday, demanding regularisation.
Chief Minister walked out to meet police jawans and assured them to look into their demands.

State Finance Controller and Finance Secretary would be asked to hold consultation with the protesting employees soon to resolve the issue in which three representatives from the police department would be invited, the CM said.
The CM said that the court observed said that police jawans are not like others employees and they could not be recruited on the contractual basis.
Notably, those police personnel, who could not complete eight years of their contract, also approached the court.
There is need to resolve this issue as state wants to do justice with their police jawans and Jail Guards who are still working on contractual basis after completing eight years of their contract period, CM told the jawan.
