He will not retire: Bommai on Yediyurappa’s “sanyas” comment

New Delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday said Yediyurappa is a relentless fighter and will neither retire nor tire from politics.
“We will have senior leader BS Yediyurappa’s strength and guidance for the next election. He has his own importance. Party top brass are aware of his importance. Yediyurappa will neither retire nor tire. I will discuss the issue when I meet him,” he told reporters here.
He was replying to a query on Yediyurappa nearly announcing sanyas from electoral politics. Earlier today, he said he is vacating his Shikaripura assembly seat for his son BY Vijayendra in next year’s polls.
The CM was in Delhi to attend the farewell dinner for outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind today.
The incumbent President will step down from office on July 24 after completing a successful tenure in India’s top Constitutional post. His successor Droupadi Murmu will take oath on July 25. (UNI)
