Dowry Horror in Greater Noida: Woman Dies After Being Set on Fire

Greater Noida, Delhi |In a tragic dowry related incident, a 30 year old woman from Sirsa village in Greater Noida identified as Nikki, died after being allegedly set on fire by her husband Vipin and in laws. A video of the horrifying event shows Nikki engulfed in flames while stumbling down the stairs before collapsing.

Nikki married Vipin in December 2016, and according to her elder sister Kanchan, the torture over dowry began within six months. Despite giving substantial dowry, including an SUV, a motorcycle, and cash, the in-laws allegedly demanded Rs 36 lakh more. Disturbing footage shows Vipin, shirtless and with another woman, dragging Nikki by her hair prior to the incident.

Nikki was rushed to a local hospital and later referred to Safdarjung Hospital but died en route. Additional DCP Sudhir Kumar confirmed that Vipin has been arrested, while the woman’s father-in-law, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law, also named in the FIR, are being searched for.
