Delhi BJP and AAP spar over providing free flats to Rohingyas
New Delhi: BJP leader and MLA Vijender Gupta on Thursday accused AAP government in Delhi of helping Rohingyas in all possible manner for using them as its ‘vote bank’.
Gupta demanded convening of a special session of State Assembly to discuss the issue related to deportation of five lakh Bangladeshis and Rohingyas settlement in Delhi.
Addressing a news conference here, he said if Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal really considers this to be a big national problem he should immediately convene a special session of the State Assembly on the issue and get a resolution on NRC passed by it. If Kejriwal helps BJP on this matter, it can be immediately resolved, he asserted.
Gupta said the party’s stand on the issue of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis is very clear as BJP can never support those playing with the security of the country.
BJP MLA while charging deputy CM Manish Sisodia with ducking the questions from media, said now it has become crystal clear that Kejriwal government is patronizing them and the CM and his ministers simply do not have an explanation for that.
Recently, BJP Delhi unit president Adesh Gupta alleged that the Delhi government has been providing free power, water or economic help to Rohingyas. He demanded that free facilities of these people should be stopped.
Delhi MP Gautam Gambhir also criticized AAPs clandestine efforts to allot EWS flats to Rohingyas. (UNI)
