CJI Lalit: Will do everything to the best of my knowledge and ability

Nagpur: Chief Justice of India (CJI) Uday Umesh Lalit on Saturday said that though there remains small span of time he will do everything to the best of his knowledge and ability during his tenure as CJI.
High Court Bar Association (HCBA), Nagpur on Saturday organized a felicitation function in honour of Chief Justice of India in Nagpur.
Speaking on the occasion of the felicitation function, the CJI said, “I have just one promise and that is I will do everything to the best of my knowledge and ability during my tenure.”
Addressing the function, the CJI got almost teary-eyed and emotional and took a few moments to compose himself and said life is a journey you undertake, it doesn’t matter what you have covered but how you cover that, that does matter, the CJI said.
Justice Uday Umesh Lalit was sworn in as 49th Chief Justice of India 27th of August.
He will have a brief tenure of 74 days as the head of India’s judiciary and would demit office on 8 November. (UNI)
