Chandigarh MC Impounds 28 Vehicles for Illegal Parking and Issues 51 Challans
On Monday, the enforcement wing of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation impounded 28 vehicles and issued 51 challans for illegal parking and abandonment on MC land across the city. This action follows numerous complaints from residents about vehicles being left in unauthorized areas and near their homes.

The drive targeted Sectors 45, 34, and 48, focusing on violations such as unauthorized vehicle repairs and parking. Sector 48, a key market area, has been particularly affected by encroachments, with mechanics occupying open spaces and parking lots, creating unsanitary conditions due to oil dumping and other waste.
MC officials have emphasized that they are closely monitoring these issues and taking steps to address the encroachments and improve the cleanliness of public spaces.
