Bus Traveling from Himachal to Delhi Overturns After Collision with Truck Near Zirakpur; Over 20 Injured
Zirakpur: A major road accident occurred early Friday morning near Chhat Light Chowk in Zirakpur when a private bus carrying passengers overturned after colliding with a truck. The bus was en route from Manali to Delhi at the time of the incident. According to information, the bus lost control after the collision and flipped on the road. Around 45 passengers were onboard, and more than 20 people sustained injuries in the crash.
The injured were immediately rushed to Derabassi Civil Hospital. Several critically injured passengers were later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh for advanced treatment.
During the accident, panic spread at the scene as several passengers were thrown off their seats, while some got trapped inside the overturned bus. Rescue efforts were carried out by police and locals, who also helped clear the damaged vehicles from the road.
In a shocking incident, a young man came under the bus and suffered severe arm injuries. His condition is reported to be critical.
On receiving information, six personnel from the Road Safety Force reached the spot and assisted in rescue operations. Police have initiated an investigation into the accident.
