BJP’s Suresh Bhardwaj ‘concedes defeat’ before contest
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Kasumpti Assembly Constituency became a hot bed for electoral contest for this Election as BJP contestant conceded defeat before the contest attributing party high command for the unexpected decision.

Development and law minister of Jai Ram Thakur Government stated that he could not manage to win this time since he didn’t have own votes as well as his supporters. He said that now his win or defeat is rest upon party workers. If he wins it would be the victory of party workers and if he loses it would defeat of them. The party could not win from Kasumpti for the last 20 years, so his possibility of victory is almost negligible. Mr. Bhardwaj was cabinet minister and the party has asked him to test his fate at Congress bastion.
It is not the first time when outsider candidates who are parachuted from Shimla, Chaupal and Rohru were dropped by BJP in Kasumpti but they couldn’t manage more than 500 votes, a local Constituent comment on the decision of BJP for putting Mr. Bhardwaj in the fray. BJP leader has already begun canvassing from Kasumpti and party pacified the rebel to not be in fray against Bhardwaj. Mr. Bhardwaj filled out nomination papers at Shimla along with BJP candidate Sanjay Sood and Ravi Mehta from Shimla urban and rural. Mr. Bhardwaj was party MLA from Shimla for three consecutive terms and he was also Rajya Sabha member. Shimla is considered the bastion of BJP as Dault Ram Chauhan remained five times MLA from Shimla. Party has put Sanjay Sood from Shimla urban who is party treasurer and Shimla Mandal chief but no-voice for Assembly Election. He also remained Counsellor in Shimla MC. BJP rebels may be in fray at Shimla rural, Theog and Rohru. October 25 is the last date of filling nomination and 205 candidate filled nomination on Friday. No nomination would be filled on October 22, 23 & 24 due to holiday. scrutiny of nomination would be done on October 27 and nomination could be withdrawn till October 29. State would go to polls on November 12 and counting of votes would be done on December 8. BJP has 43 members in the state assembly, Congress 22 and one CPI(M) and two independents. (UNI)
