Bangladesh Golden Jubilee celebration of Independence to begin on Dec 16

Dhaka, Nov 11 (UNI) Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Thursday said that the Golden jubilee celebration of Bangladesh’s independence will start on December 16.

Speaking to media persons, he said that the two day event on Dec 16-17 will be held at the South Plaza of Bangladesh parliament Jatiya Sangsad and many foreign guests are expected to attend the celebrations.

Home Minister Kamal said that strict security measures around the venue will be in place for the two-day event. No vehicles having gas cylinders will be allowed around the area. No makeshift or temporary shops will operate around the programme venues, said the minister.

The Minister said that a folk fair will be held between November 24-29 at the birthplace of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara, Gopalganj which Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is also expected to visit.
