ITBP Jawans rescue 205 stranded tourists in Pooh, Kaza
Shimla, Oct 19 (UNI) 205 tourists who were stranded on the way from Pooh to Kaza in Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal were rescued
from their camp by Indian Army Jawans stationed at Sumdo on Tuesday.
Deputy commissioner Lahaul Spiti district Mr Neeraj Kumar said that these people were stranded on the Pooh to Kaza road late in the evening.
After the sudden snowfall Army jawans allowed the trapped people stay in their baraks as people were accommodated in different camps.
Jawan also offered food and medical facilities to the stranded people.
As rescued people returned home they extended gratitude to the Indian Army Jawans.
Col Nitin Mittal, Dogra Scouts said that they had a total of 205 people who were accommodated overnight.
The entire arrangement for their food, drink and living was done by the company.
“We re strained people not to go ahead until the road was opened. Many of the people who stayed in the Army camp were facilitated to talk with family members via wireless” he added.
