Anil Vij Slams Channi Over Surgical Strike Remark..
Haryana Minister Anil Vij calls ex-Punjab CM Channi anti-national over controversial statement…
Ambala : In a sharp political exchange, Haryana’s senior cabinet minister Anil Vij has launched a scathing attack on former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi over his recent statement casting doubt on the authenticity of India’s surgical strikes. Speaking to the media, Vij strongly condemned Channi’s comments, labeling them as not just irresponsible but deeply anti-national.
Channi had earlier stirred controversy by questioning the truth behind India’s surgical strikes against terror camps across the border. His statement, seen as undermining the Indian Army’s bravery and the government’s decisive action, quickly drew criticism from various political circles. Responding to this, Anil Vij called Channi’s remarks “shameful” and accused him of playing into the hands of the country’s enemies.
Vij did not mince words and described Channi as a “traitor,” saying that doubting the Indian Army’s valor is akin to insulting every soldier who risks their life for the country. “Anyone who questions the surgical strikes is questioning the Indian Army and the nation’s integrity. Such people should be treated as anti-national,” Vij asserted.
He further added that political leaders must act with responsibility and avoid making statements that could demoralize the armed forces or create confusion in the public domain. According to Vij, the surgical strikes were a proud moment for the country, showcasing India’s ability to respond firmly to terrorism.
The minister also questioned the silence of Congress leadership on Channi’s controversial comment. He asked whether such statements reflect the mindset of the entire party and urged senior Congress leaders to clarify their stance.
Channi’s remarks have triggered a political storm, especially with the Lok Sabha elections approaching. While the Congress has not officially endorsed his statement, the lack of immediate rebuttal has led to speculation and criticism. The BJP is expected to capitalize on this issue to highlight its national security credentials and paint the Congress as weak on terrorism.
This latest controversy adds to the already tense political atmosphere, where national security remains a central theme. The surgical strikes, carried out in 2016 after the Uri attack, have been a matter of national pride and political significance.
