All set for TN Investment Conclave tomorrow
60 MOUs likely to be inked with potential for 60,000 employment generation
Chennai: The industrial development in the State is all set to get a major boost, when the Tamil Nadu Investors’ First Port of Call
Investment Conclave, will be held tomorrow in which a slew of MoUs will be signed in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
According to Industries Minister Thangam Thennarasu, more than 60 MoUs are expected to be signed, that would provide job potential to 60,000 to 70,000 people–Direct and Indirect–and the expected investment could be in excess of Rs 20,000.
At the Conclave, Stalin will lay the foundation stone for 21 new projects and inaugurate 12 projects. He said ever since the DMK government came to power in May last year, a total of 132 MoUs involving an investment of Rs 94,975 crore, with a job potential of 2.25 lakh.
The State has attracted investments despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic which reflected the confidence that investors have in the State, he said, adding the State’s ease of doing business ranking has improved. (UNI)
