AAP spreading lies against UP govt for petty political gains: Khanna
Lucknow, Jul 4(UNI) Miffed over Aam Aadmi Party for framing fake and baseless charges upon the UP government even in times of crisis, Uttar Pradesh Medical Education Minister, Suresh Kumar Khanna on Sunday charged AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh for making fake and baseless allegations to malign the image of the Yogi Adityanath government.
Mr Khanna on Sunday asserted that the AAP leaders did not do ‘fact-check’ on their own statements before accusing the state government ‘shamelessly’ just for their petty political gains.
He termed all the allegations leveled against the UP government on the purchase of medical equipment as ‘baseless’.
Launching a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party, he said that the Kejriwal government, responsible for the oxygen scam and oximeter purchase in Delhi, is questioning the actions of the Uttar Pradesh government to cover up its misdeeds.
“This is just one of the many failed attempts of the Aam Admi Party to tarnish the image of UP government which is working tirelessly to protect its people as a result of which despite being the most populous state, UP has contained the virus exceptionally well,” the Minister said, adding that, “If you procure a ventilator with better features and functionalities, it will cost you more. It is like comparing the prices of apples and oranges. Now, please let the government serve its people.”
Mr Khanna further said that it is extremely shocking that a person who calls himself a ‘leader’ is not even aware that the better the medical equipments are, the higher their price will be. “All machines have been procured at prices that have been discovered through a transparent tendering process,” he added.
He further informed that the basic model of ventilator (dredger), which is non-upgradable, costs Rs 10.5 lakh plus GST, while its upgradeable model with better features costs more for which naturally a higher amount has been paid.
Lashing out at the AAP MLA, Mr Khanna said, “unlike what is happening in AAP’s regime, the people in Uttar Pradesh are being directly benefited without being dependent on other states for medical supplies. We have purchased better machinery with value additions.”
Earlier, AAP leader Sanjay Singh had alleged that the UP government had purchased medical equipment at higher price than the prevailing market rate and had given purchase contact to a black listed company.
