Haryana  :  A massive fire broke out in a factory in Panipat late last night, causing significant damage to valuable goods and heavy machinery. The incident has left workers and local residents shocked, as thick plumes of smoke were visible from several kilometers away.

According to initial reports, the fire was first noticed by the factory’s night guard, who immediately alerted the authorities. “I saw flames coming from one corner of the building and quickly called for help,” said the guard, recalling the tense moments when the blaze began to spread rapidly.

Within minutes, the fire department dispatched ten fire tenders to the scene. Firefighters worked tirelessly for several hours to bring the flames under control, battling intense heat and dense smoke. Eyewitnesses said that the fire appeared to have engulfed large sections of the manufacturing area, where expensive raw materials and high-end machinery were stored.

“The challenge was that the fire spread quickly through flammable materials. Our teams had to ensure it didn’t reach nearby structures,” said a senior fire official. Despite their efforts, much of the stored stock and key production equipment was completely destroyed.

While the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, officials suspect that an electrical short circuit could have triggered the blaze. However, they are not ruling out other possibilities and have begun a detailed forensic examination of the site.

Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties. The fire broke out during night hours when production was halted, and most workers were off-site. Still, the loss is expected to run into crores of rupees, dealing a severe blow to the factory’s operations.

Residents living nearby expressed concern over the intensity of the fire. “The flames were so high that it looked like daylight for a moment. We were worried it might spread to our homes,” said one local resident. Many gathered outside their houses, watching the fire brigade’s rescue efforts and offering water to the firefighters.

The factory management has yet to release an official statement but has assured cooperation with authorities in determining the cause. Insurance companies are also expected to assess the losses in the coming days.

For now, the charred remains of machinery and stacks of burned materials stand as a stark reminder of the destructive force of fire and the importance of stringent safety measures in industrial units.
