New Delhi : Union Minister Smriti Irani, best known for her iconic role as Tulsi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, has found herself in the spotlight again—not for a political statement, but for a fan’s heartfelt question about her television comeback.

Recently, during an interaction on Instagram, a fan wrote to Smriti:
“Ma’am, we want you to return to TV, but please don’t quit politics!”

Her reply was quick, witty, and reflective of her dual identity as both an actor and a public servant. She responded:
“I never left acting… I just changed the stage.”

This response quickly went viral and struck a chord with fans who still remember her from her early television days. Many social media users started commenting that they would love to see her back on screen, but also admire her fearless presence in Indian politics.

Smriti Irani, who played one of the most iconic roles on Indian television, transitioned into politics and has since held several key positions in the Indian government. She currently serves as the Union Minister for Women and Child Development.

In a recent social media live session, Smriti elaborated on this dual journey. “Acting was my first love, but today serving the nation is my foremost priority. Whether on stage or in Parliament, both jobs require performance and responsibility,” she said.

She also shared that while she doesn’t plan to quit politics, she hasn’t ruled out the possibility of returning to the screen—possibly through a short project, a documentary, or even a cameo in a social initiative.

Fans continue to hope for her screen comeback, especially those who grew up watching her in the early 2000s. But for now, it’s clear: Smriti Irani remains committed to her political role, while keeping the door to her artistic past slightly open.
