Chandigarh / Hisar : The first-ever flight connecting Hisar to Chandigarh successfully took off, marking a significant milestone in Haryana’s aviation and connectivity sector. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was among the first passengers on board, adding to the inaugural event’s importance. Speaking to the media, the CM expressed optimism about the new routes and promised further expansion.

“This is a proud moment for Haryana,” said CM Saini after landing in Chandigarh. He emphasized that better air connectivity would boost trade, tourism, and ease of travel between key cities. He further announced that flights connecting Hisar to Jaipur, Jammu, and Ahmedabad would be launched soon, making Hisar a regional air travel hub.

The inaugural flight was greeted with much enthusiasm at both airports. Local officials, business leaders, and travelers welcomed this long-awaited service. The route aims to significantly reduce travel time between Hisar and Chandigarh, which otherwise requires several hours by road.

Aviation experts believe that the Hisar airport project is a game-changer for Haryana. Located strategically, it is set to connect the state’s interior regions to key metropolitan hubs. The government has been working on upgrading the airport infrastructure under the UDAN scheme, aimed at improving regional air connectivity across India.

CM Saini highlighted that these new flights would not only serve business travelers but also provide immense convenience to tourists and families. “Direct connectivity to cities like Jaipur, Jammu, and Ahmedabad will open new economic and cultural opportunities,” he said.

The announcement comes at a time when Haryana is pushing for enhanced infrastructure and investment. Improved air links are expected to attract industries, boost employment, and give a fillip to sectors like tourism, healthcare, and education.

Local residents and frequent travelers welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that more domestic and eventually international connections would follow. The state government is reportedly in talks with various airlines to increase the frequency of flights and explore more routes in the future.

With this launch, Haryana takes a bold step toward making air travel more accessible to its citizens. The success of the Hisar to Chandigarh flight is expected to pave the way for an even more connected Haryana in the years to come.
