17th Global Communication Conclave Explores Trust in the Digital Age

New Delhi: The 17th Global Communication Conclave, organized by the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI), in association with the Public Relations Society Delhi (PRSD), successfully unfolded on September 21st and 22nd at New Delhi .This dynamic conclave emerged as a distinguished platform for industry leaders, communication experts, media veterans, PR specialists, event management professionals, and academic scholars to explore, discuss, and exchange insights on critical themes revolving around trust and transparency in the digital age.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed an illustrious gathering of industry leaders and dignitaries, including former Minister for Minority Affairs,  Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, and former JDU M.P.  K. C. Tyagi,  The conclave drew participation from diplomats representing various countries, further underscoring its international prominence. Notable attendees included representatives from the embassies of Austria, Egypt, Israel, Switzerland, and the Philippines, reflecting the global appeal of the event.

The event began with an impactful inaugural ceremony marked by addresses from key dignitaries., Dr Vijay Pothukuchi, a known professional and Chairman at a number of companies in India and abroad underlined the need of a more human touch while dealing the social issues..

Mr. M.B. Jayaram, PRCI Chief Mentor and Chairman Emeritus expressed enthusiasm for the conclave, highlighting the participation of top-notch speakers and experts from across the world. Over 250 corporate communication experts and high-end professionals attended this mega event. Esteemed speakers shared their insights on a wide array of topics, emphasizing the importance of building trust and transparency in the digital age.

Ms. Geetha Shankar, President of PRCI proudly stated that, “PRCI’s 17th Global Communication Conclave has once again proven to be a platform for meaningful dialogues and insights into the evolving landscape of communication in the digital age. We are committed to fostering excellence in the field of public relations and communication.” Dr. T Vinay Kumar , Secretary , GC , PRCI, K Ravindran, Sr VP, PRCI, Prof. Dr K Venugopal, Former VC, Bangalore University, PR veteran Mr. G S Bawa,  President PRS Delhi Mr. SS Rao and Secretary Sarvesh Tiwary, Mr. Rajesh Sahgal, Conclave Chairman, PRCI and a large number of  PR, Corporate Communication and Media Professionals present in the program.

The conclave revolved around the overarching theme, “Building Trust in the Digital Age.” It featured thought-provoking sessions and discussions on various critical subjects, including Ethical and Social Implications of Digital Transformation, Reinventing Culture in a Digital Age, Maintaining the Human Element in Public Relations, and Learning Challenges and opportunities for the Youth in the Era of AI, among others.

Conclave also celebrated excellence through “Chanakya” awards and induction into the “PR Hall of Fame,” and the presentation of the prestigious PRCI Excellence for Corporate Collaterals. These awards were presented by Mr. Jual Oram, MP and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of Defence and Mr. Vinod Jutsi , Former Secretary, Tourism , GOI.

Mr.  Vinod Zutshi, IAS, highlighted the organizations becoming the powerhouse of global knowledge in the field of mass communication and shared the broad disciplines to be followed; i.e., Transparency in methodology of communication, differentiating between the Opinion Piece and the News item, Rigorous Fact Check and Verification is must, Ethical Reporting, Fairness and No-Partiality in reporting news and Privacy & Security of Data is the upcoming challenge.

On Day 2  spiritual awakening session was led by Sister BK Vidhatri from Brahmakumaris. The day continued with an array of engaging sessions, including “Building Trust in Professional Relationships in the Digital Age” and “Need of Regulation in Cyberspace,” both of which sparked thought-provoking discussions among industry leaders and experts.
