A vibrant Utkal Samaj celebrates Odisha Day in Frankfurt
Consulate General of India blessed the function
Frankfurt: Odisha Day (Utkal Divas) was celebrated by Indian diaspora living in Frankfurt and adjoining areas with a great pomp and show recently. It was an excellent bonhomie among NRI families, especially from Odisha state of India, with re-launch of Utkal Samaj Rhein-Main e.v. (The first registered Odia Verein in Frankfurt Rhein-Main). Consul General of India, at Frankfurt Dr. Amit Telang shared the video message of blessings, and Mr. Amar Pal Meena Consul graced the event with Mr. Kamal Vatsain representing Friends of India in Germany as Advisor and Europa Union Board Member.

Orissa was known as Kalinga (Kalinga Kingdom 1100 – 261 BCE) in ancient days. Another ancient name before of this region was “Utkal” during Mahabharata (10th century BCE) It is widely known as the land of Lord Jagannath. Jai Jagannath said Mr. Mohanty.“Utkal Divas” or Utakala Dibasha is celebrated on April 1 every year to remember the formation of the United Odisha state.
Co-organizers Ms. Monalisha Mohanty, Amit Kumar Rawal, Vice President, Namrata Mohapatra expressed their appreciation and mentioned about excellent amity among the community.
