Bangladesh will not recognize the Taliban government : Alam
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam has said that his country will not recognize the interim government of Afghanistan. He made the remarks while addressing reporters on Wednesday (September 8).
He stated that Bangladesh is monitoring the policy of the Taliban, the state minister said that Bangladesh would support multilateral initiatives like the ones undertaken by United Nations
and the European Union for the development of Afghanistan.
The Taliban on Tuesday announced an interim government in Afghanistan headed by Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund.
Taliban co-founder Abdul Gani Baradar will act as a deputy, while Sirajuddin Haqqani has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
