32-Storey Supertech Towers raved in 9 sec in NOIDA on SC orders

Lucknow: After Twin Towers, which were constructed by Supertech in Noida, were demolished in Noida on the orders of the Supreme Court on Sunday after corruption was proved in its construction, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awinash Awasthi said that continuous action will be taken against the corruption in the state.
Awasthi, who was overseeing the entire process of demolition of Twin Towers, while reacting to the whole exercise said that termed the demolished buildings as a symbol of corruption. “The building of corruption in Noida has been razed. Action against corruption will continue in the state,” he said.
It may be noted that the Supreme Court on August 31, last year directed to demolish the two buildings, which were constructed by Supertech by overlooking the building norms in collusion with the top officers of the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA).
Awasthi said that it was the first time that such a huge structure had been demolished on the complaints of corruption. He said that the Uttar Pradesh government has complied with the order of the apex court and stern action will be taken against officials found guilty in this matter.

As per the layout approved by the authority total 17 towers having capacity of 660 residential units were to be constructed. While 15 towers are of 15 stories, two towers are of 30 and 32 stories respectively.
In a high-level inquiry 26 officers were found guilty of corruption in the construction of the twin towers. Other than officers, four directors of Supertech and two architects were also found guilty. The state government has announced strict action will be taken against those involved in corruption.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has termed corruption in the construction of the twin towers as anarchy during Samajwadi Party (SP) regime. “The Supertech Twin Tower of Noida is live proof of the policy of corruption and anarchy during the reign of Akhilesh Yadav and SP. Today the building of corruption of SP will collapse in the BJP government under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This is justice, this is good governance,” he tweeted before the twin tower was demolished in Noida. (UNI)
