Archery WC: Indian women recurve team assured a medal

Paris: Indian women recurve archery team sailed into the final of Archery World Cup stage 3 and assured a medal here on Thursday.
Indian team consisting of ace archer Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat and Simranjeet Kaur registered 5-3 win over eighth seeded Turkish team in the semifinal.
India will be up against Chinese Taipie in the gold medal match on Sunday.
After receiving the first-round bye, team India beat Ukraine 5-1 in the second round. The Indian trio of Deepika, Ankita and Simranjeet trounced Great Britain 6-0 in the quarterfinals.
Men’s recurve team of Olympians Tarundeep Rai, Pravin Jadhav and Jayanta Talukdar, however, failed to go past the second as they suffered a close 5-4 defeat in a shoot-off at the hands of Switzerland. (UNI)
