Youth Found Dead in Kurukshetra Near Roadside

Kurukshetra: The body of a young man was found lying on the roadside in a suspicious condition, sparking shock and grief in the area. According to the victim’s family, his friends gave him intoxicants, and when his health began to deteriorate, they abandoned him and fled.

The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Rohit (name changed), a resident of a nearby village. His family told the police that he had gone out the previous evening with a few friends. When he did not return home, they began searching for him. Early the next morning, his lifeless body was discovered near the bypass road on the outskirts of the city.

Eyewitnesses said that the body was found in a deserted spot, and there were no signs of injury. However, the young man’s face looked pale, and foam was reportedly seen around his mouth — leading to strong suspicion of drug overdose.

His father, visibly broken, claimed, “He had no history of drug use. His friends are responsible for this. They gave him something, and when he started reacting to it, they ran away instead of helping him.”

Police arrived at the scene shortly after receiving information and took the body into custody. It was later sent for postmortem to determine the exact cause of death. According to the police, initial signs point toward substance consumption, but confirmation will only be made after forensic results.

Officers have started interrogating the friends who were last seen with the deceased. Some of them are reportedly missing and are currently being traced. Police have registered a case and are treating the matter as suspicious.

This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with many demanding strict action against those responsible. Social activists have also raised concerns over increasing substance abuse among youth in the region.
