World Masters Games Begin Today in Taiwan

Chandigarh / Haryana : The 11th edition of the World Masters Games officially begins today in Taiwan, marking the return of one of the world’s largest sporting events after an extended delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This international multi-sport event features participation from over 100 countries and includes competitions in more than 54 different sports. Originally scheduled to take place in Japan in 2021, the World Masters Games had to be postponed due to the global health crisis. After an eight-year gap, the event is now being held in full swing in Taiwan, drawing athletes aged 30 and above from across the globe, many of whom are former professionals or passionate sports veterans. This year, Haryana has a strong representation at the games, with 16 athletes from the state selected to participate in various sporting disciplines.
