CM Bhagwant Mann to Inaugurate School of Eminence in Nawanshahr; 12,000 Schools Set for Upgrade..
Punjab : In a major step toward transforming the education landscape of Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is all set to inaugurate the School of Eminence in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr) today. The event marks the beginning of the state’s ambitious “Shiksha Kranti Mahotsav” (Education Revolution Festival), aimed at overhauling government schools and ensuring quality education for all.
Joining the CM will be Manish Sisodia, Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab in-charge and a key architect of Delhi’s education model. Their joint appearance reflects the government’s commitment to replicating Delhi’s successful school reform blueprint in Punjab. This initiative is expected to significantly improve infrastructure, technology access, and teaching standards across the state.
Under the School of Eminence project, the state plans to upgrade 12,000 government schools. These upgrades will include modern classrooms, smart technology, dedicated labs, sports facilities, and better sanitation. Additionally, efforts will be made to boost digital literacy by ensuring free Wi-Fi access across all upgraded institutions.
The School of Eminence in Nawanshahr is being seen as a model institution, symbolizing the state’s vision for a brighter and more inclusive future for students. The Punjab government believes that such schools will not only improve the academic performance of students but also enhance their confidence and prepare them for global opportunities.
Officials said that the inauguration is not just a ceremonial event, but a clear message that educational reform is a top priority for the Aam Aadmi Party-led government in Punjab. This move also aligns with the state’s broader agenda of improving public services, especially in education and healthcare.
CM Bhagwant Mann, during his previous public addresses, has emphasized the importance of providing quality education as a means to empower youth and reduce socio-economic disparities. He has repeatedly stated that education is the foundation of a prosperous Punjab.
With this initiative, Punjab joins the list of states actively working toward education reform. Stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and students, have welcomed the move and expressed hope that these schools will truly elevate the learning experience and bridge the gap between government and private education.
As the project unfolds, all eyes will be on how the state delivers on this promise and whether it will become a model for other states to follow.
