Haryana : In a move to boost tourism and preserve its cultural richness, the Haryana government has decided to transform its heritage sites into wedding destinations. Inspired by Rajasthan’s success in promoting its forts and palaces for luxurious and royal-style weddings, Haryana now aims to follow the same model. The tourism department is working on a strategic plan to identify suitable historical locations across the state that can be developed and marketed as venues for destination weddings.

From ancient havelis and forts to scenic palaces and cultural buildings, several properties are under review. These venues will be revamped with modern facilities while retaining their traditional charm. The focus is on offering couples a unique blend of culture, tradition, and royal ambiance to celebrate their special moments. Officials believe that this initiative will not only give a fresh identity to Haryana’s heritage structures but also generate significant revenue for the state by attracting both domestic and international tourists.

Haryana Tourism is likely to collaborate with event planners, hospitality partners, and wedding management companies to ensure seamless experiences for those planning destination weddings. These heritage wedding packages will include everything from traditional decor and authentic local cuisine to folk performances and royal-themed ceremonies.

Tourism officials mentioned that this plan would also help create jobs for local artisans, caterers, and performers, giving a boost to the rural economy. Sites such as the Pinjore Gardens, Mahendragarh Fort, and several other historical spots are expected to be among the first to be featured in this campaign.

The government also plans to run digital and social media promotions to attract millennial couples who are increasingly looking for offbeat yet traditional wedding venues. Local communities will be engaged in maintaining and showcasing the heritage sites, which will also promote a sense of pride and responsibility toward preserving their cultural assets.

With this move, Haryana is poised to offer a fresh alternative to the already popular destinations like Jaipur and Udaipur. By blending heritage with hospitality, the state hopes to carve a niche in the booming wedding tourism industry, while also giving its monuments a new lease of life.
