VP Naidu arrives in Qatar on last leg of visit
Doha/New Delhi: Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu arrived in the Qatari capital on Saturday on the last leg of his three-nation visit. He was accorded a ceremonial reception and a Guard of Honour at Doha airport.
Vice President Naidu, who arrived in Doha from Senegal, was received by Soltan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Qatar, and other dignitaries at Doha airport.
The Indian community in Doha accorded the VP an enthusiastic welcome, with the beating of drums and shouting of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.
“An exuberant welcome by the Indian community in Doha for Vice President @MVenkaiahNaidu,” the MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted.
Earlier, he departed Dakar after a successful three-day visit to Senegal.
He was bid farewell by the Senegalese Minister of Interior, Antoine Felix Dioume and other dignitaries at Dakar airport
The VP’s visit to Senegal, and to Gabon, were the first ever visit by an Indian vice president to those nations and have helped add renewed momentum to ties. (UNI)
