Paris, April 26: French actor Vincent Lindon would be the President of the eight-member Jury of the 75th Cannes Film Festival, the organizers announced on Tuesday. “With my Jury, we will strive to take the best possible care of the films of the future, all of which carry the same secret hope of courage, loyalty, and freedom, with a mission to move the greatest number of women and men by speaking to them of their common wounds and joys,” Lindon would quote as saying in a release. The last time a French celebrity was the Jury President was in 2009 when Isabelle Huppert was chosen. French celebrities were Jury Presidents for the anniversary years of the festival like in 1987 for the 40th edition Yves Montand was the President, in 1993 for the 45th edition it was Gerard Depardieu and in 1997 for the 50th edition it was Isabelle Adjani.
