 Kangra/Jawalamukhi: Kangra district has been treated as a stepchild by the present BJP government and the treatment was worse than it could have been with Pakistan.
This was stated by Vikramaditya, MLA and son of the former six-time Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Virbhadra Singh, which addressing a public meeting at Jawalamukhi today seeking votes for the Congress candidate Sanjay Rattan.
Vikramaditya alleged that Kangra district has been ignored by the Jairam Thakur Government during the last five years left the people of this region in a lurch.
He said that it was Virbhadra Singh government who established HP Board of School Education, state assembly, Chief Engineer office at Dharamshala besides other offices. He said that the same government started winter session of state assembly at Dharamshala besides also started winter suorjone in this district and the government was remaining at the door step of the people.
He was critical of Union Minister Smriti Irani for her silence over the LPG cylinder hike to Rs. 1200, putting essential commodities including milk, curds, cheese, ghee and butter under GST.
He said that 14 lakh unemployed youths were waiting for jobs but 40 BJP Star campaigners were mute on the issue of unemployment.
He said that in the development has taken in the back seats. He promised that in the first cabinet meeting after Congress assumes power in the state with your vote OPS will be resumed to give relief to government employees who were disgraced allegedly by the Chief Minister Jairam Thakur when spoke in the assembly asking government employees to leave government jobs and enter politics to get pension.
