Veteran Cong. leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah joins BJP
New Delhi: Senior Congress leader from Delhi Tarvinder Singh Marwah on Wednesday joined BJP at party headquarters in New Delhi. Marwah was a member of the Delhi Assembly for three terms from 1998-2013 and also served as parliamentary secretary to the chief minister.
He joined the BJP in the presence of party national general secretary Vinod Tawde, media department co-head Sanjay Mayukh and spokesperson Prem Shukla and Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
Welcoming Marwah to the party, Tawde said his joining will strengthen the party to take forward the vision of prime minister Modi”.
After joining, Marwah thanked Prime Minister Modi, BJP chief J.P. Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and said he will “serve the party till his last breath”.
Slamming the Congress leaders for “ignoring” the party cadre, he said Congress leadership is completely disconnected with the cadre and there are some people who have been promoted in the party”. He also urged the members of G23, a group of senior leaders within the Congress which seeks overhaul of the party’s organizational apparatus, to join the BJP. (UNI)
