Veteran actor, DMDK’s founder Vijayakanth admitted to hospital
Chennai, May 19 (UNIL) Actor-politician and DMDK Founder Vijayakanth was admitted to a private hospital early on Wednesday morning after he complained of breathing problems.
Vijayakanth was admitted to MIOT Hospitals at around 0330 hrs due to
breathing problems, party sources said. A team of medical experts are monitoring his health condition.
Party sources said he was admitted to the hospital for routine medical tests. Vijayakanth, who had been keeping a low profile for the last couple of years due to ill-health, had earlier tested positive for COVID-19 on September 23 last year with mild symptoms and was discharged on October two. He was readmitted to the hospital on October six for secondary tests and discharged four days later.
His wife and DMDK Treasurer Premalatha, who had unsuccessfully contested the April six Assembly elections from Vridhachalam seat as an ally of the AMMK
led by TTV Dhinakaran, also tested positive and was discharged from hospital
after a few days.
