Hyderabad: The Vande Bharat Express train between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam, flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the morning, will help to promote tourism and strengthen the cultural bond between the two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundrarajan said here on Sunday.
The Train was virtually flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from New Delhi.
She termed the flagging off Vande Bharat Express as a great Sankranti gift to the people of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh by the Prime Minister.
Participating in the flagging off ceremony of the newly introduced state-of-the-art train at the Secunderabad Railway station, the Governor said “The ultra-modern Vande Bharat Express truly signifies the spirit of Atma Nirbhar Bharat and the Make in India, as envisioned by Modi.
Soundararajan stated that the Indian Railways is witnessing tremendous transformation and the Vande Bharat Express is one of such major initiatives.
“Through his Mann ki Baat, our Prime Minister has revived the glory of radio, which was considered by many as a fading media platform, similarly, by introducing this indigenously developed Vande Bharat Express, he revived the fortunes of the Railway in our country,” she added. (UNI)
