US Speaker’s husband arrested over drink driving

Washington: US Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, has been arrested for driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content level of 0.08 or higher, media reported on Monday.
The arrest was made just before midnight on Saturday in Napa county and then booked hours later in jail, TMZ reported.
According to collision report from the California Highway Patrol, Pelosi was attempting to cross SR-29 when his Porsche was hit by a Jeep traveling northbound on the road.
No one was injured in the crash and the Jeep’s driver was not arrested.
Bail was set at $5,000 according to the booking report, and records indicate Pelosi was released Sunday morning, CNN reported.
“The Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast,” Drew Hammill, Pelosi’s spokesperson, said.
