Upendra Kushwah gets cold shoulder from local BJP leaders
Kushwaha has always been an opportunist, says BJP's Chauhan
Patna: The ongoing tirade by Senior JD(U) leader Upendra Kushwaha against CM Nityish may soon misfire, as the speculations over his joining BJP, has been poured cold water by Upendra Chauhan, president of National Social Justice Front (NSJF). Upendra Chauhan on Friday cautioned the saffron party’s central leadership, not to fall into the trap of Kushwaha as he has been an “opportunist leader” since the beginning of his political career.
BJP’s state leader Chauhan, also a senior member of the state executive committee member of BJP, said here that Kushwaha had been an extremely “opportunist” leader since the very beginning of his political career. Kushwaha had never been a trustworthy leader in any party, he had joined so far and remained engaged only in serving his own political interests, he remarked.
BJP leader said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had played a vital role in establishing the political career of Kushwaha. If Kushwaha did not remain loyal to Kumar, how could he be trustworthy to anyone else, he noted.
Chauhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made Kushwaha, Minister in his cabinet in 2014 when the latter’s political career was almost finished. Despite getting so much respect from the Prime Minister, Kushwaha ditched BJP and parted ways with NDA and at last merged his party RLSP with JD(U). How could Kushwaha now be trusted by central leadership of BJP, he wondered.
Kushwaha also met an ex-JD(U) leader Ajay Alok recently, adding to speculation of anti-Nitish lobby gathering moss. (UNI)
