UP: Youth arrested for insulting national flag

Badaun (UP): A youth was arrested after a video of him insulting the national flag went viral on social media in Zarif Nagar area of Badaun district here in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, a senior officer said here.
Police sources said a video went viral on Tuesday in which a youth can be seen trampling the national flag under his feet after wiping the sweat from his face. “Preliminary inquiry suggested that the video was shot in Dhel village under Zarif Nagar,” they said.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Siddharth Verma said on the basis of preliminary investigation Shahrukh Khan, a resident of Dhel village has been arrested. “A case under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act has been lodged against him and the accused has been sent to jail,” he said.
