UP CM to launch Veer Savarkar’s biography written by Vikram Sampath
Lucknow, Sep 30 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will release a book on the freedom fighter, patriot and pioneering Hindutva philosopher Veer Savarkar from his official residence on Friday.
The book titled ‘Savarkar: Ek Bhoole Bisre Ateet Ki Goonj (1883-1924)’ authored by Dr Vikram Sampath will encompass the ideals of a great leader, lawyer and writer born in 1883 in Maharashtra’s Nashik.
The book comprises the world-shaping events culminating in the independence and partition of India through Savarkar’s eyes.
The author, has a doctorate in history and music from the University of Queensland, Australia, and is a former senior fellow at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, New Delhi. The Bangalore-based historian is recipient of Sahitya Akademi’s first Yuva Puraskar in English literature in 2012.
It is noteworthy that the government has made several efforts to provide recognition to the great freedom fighter and social reformer, Veer Savarkar. The government has not only worked to sensitize the youth on sacrifices he made for India’s independence, but also has highlighted his efforts to strengthen social harmony and unity by eradication of casteism.
