Two Gangsters Arrested After Encounter in Jalandhar
One gangster injured in crossfire, illegal weapons seized from the suspects………
Jalandhar : The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma, arrested two members of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar gang following an encounter near Wadala Chowk on Wednesday morning. One of the suspects, Balraj Singh, alias Ballu, sustained bullet injuries during the crossfire and was later hospitalized.
The arrested individuals, Balraj Singh and Pawan Kumar, were wanted for various crimes including snatching, robbery, and attempted murder. Acting on a tip-off about their presence in the city and plans to commit a major crime, the police set up a barricade to intercept the suspects. When Balraj Singh opened fire on the police, they retaliated, injuring him. Pawan Kumar attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended.
Police recovered four illegal firearms, including a .32 bore pistol and a 9 mm pistol, along with ammunition. The vehicle used by the suspects was also seized. An FIR has been filed at the Bhargo Camp police station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Arms Act.
