Palwal : Two wanted criminals involved in the Mohit murder case were injured in a police encounter late Thursday night in Palwal, Haryana. The encounter took place when the police team tried to arrest the suspects, who opened fire in an attempt to flee. In retaliatory firing by the police, both criminals sustained bullet injuries in their legs.
According to police officials, the accused had been absconding since the murder of Mohit, which had created a stir in the region. After receiving a tip-off about their location, a special police team tracked them down on the outskirts of Palwal. As soon as the police attempted to stop them, the criminals started firing. In self-defense, the police fired back, injuring both of them.
The injured suspects were immediately taken to the local civil hospital for treatment under police custody. Their condition is said to be stable. The police have also recovered weapons from the accused, including country-made pistols and live cartridges.
SP Palwal confirmed the incident and said that both men were among the main suspects in the Mohit murder case. “They were on the run for several days. We had been following leads and finally managed to trace their movement. When our team tried to arrest them, they opened fire. Our personnel responded, leading to the injury and arrest of the duo,” he said.
The SP also stated that further investigation is ongoing to determine if the accused were involved in any other criminal activities or were part of a larger gang. The police are also questioning them about the motive behind Mohit’s murder.
This encounter has once again highlighted the growing concern over rising gang activities and crimes in certain parts of Haryana. The police have reiterated their commitment to cracking down on criminals and ensuring public safety.
Security has been tightened in the area, and additional police deployment has been made to prevent any potential unrest. The police have assured that strict action will be taken against anyone found supporting or harboring criminals.
