Ankara, Feb 11 (Xinhua) Turkish security forces have killed 29 members of Syria’s Kurdish People’s Protection Units in northern Syria, Turkey’s Defense Ministry said on Friday. A total of 28 Kurdish militants who attempted to attack the Operation Euphrates Shield zone and one militant trying to attack the Operation Peace Spring region were “neutralized”, the Ministry said in a statement. Turkish forces and the Kurdish militants often exchange fire on the Syrian border but the tension has increased in the region since early January when three Turkish soldiers were killed there.
