Washington, Feb 23 (UNI) Former US president Donald Trump on Wednesday termed the moves made by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Ukraine as “genius” and called the Russian leader ‘very savvy’, while also claiming that Russia would have never
invaded Ukraine had he been president. Trump said this during an interview with a conservative radio show, where he criticized President Biden for what he called being “clueless” and proceeded to applaud Putin for his tactical brilliance, the Washington Post reported. Trump went on to add that “If properly handled, there was absolutely no reason that the situation currently happening in Ukraine should have happened at all”. ‘I know Vladimir Putin very well, and he would have never done during the Trump Administration what he is doing now, no way!’, before hitting out at Biden’s for his ‘weak sanctions’ against Russia. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have been calling upon President Biden to impose tougher sanctions against Russia after it moved troops into eastern Ukraine.
