665 – The ancient Indian mathematician Brahmagupta completed his astronomical research , the
Khandakhadyaka, on a date that falls in this month in 665 CE in Ujjain (M.P.) He also wrote two more books on Mathamatics and astronomy. Varahmihir, Aryabhatta and Subramanian were some of the prominent Indian astronomers/mathematicians.
1675 – Guru Gobind Singh Appointed as the 10th Guru of Sikhism. He was appointed 10th Guru at an
age of 9 when his father, the 9th Guru Teg Bahadur was beheaded by mughal emperor Auragzeb in Delhi. He was a philosopher, poet, warrier and a great statesman, who established the Khalsa Panth, Panj Piyaras tradition and declared Guru Granth Sahib as the living Guru for his followers in future.
1905 -: The foundation stone for Prince of Wales Museum in Bombay was laid by the Prince of Wales.
1905 – British authorities in Eastern Bengal issued a circular in prohibiting the singing of “Vande Mataram” in schools, leading to protests and fines against students.
1918 – End of World War I, celebrated as Armistice Day.
1998 – India objects to Washington’s discrimination in easing sanctions against New Delhi and Islamabad, clamped in the wake of the Nuclear Tests by the two countries. PM Vajpayee ordered the tests to be conducted (in Pokharan) despite financial sanctions by Western powers.
Born…. 1888 – Abul Kalam (Ghulam Muhiyuddin) Azad, writer, educationist and first Education Minister of India from 1947 to 1958. Born in Mecca, his father settled in Calcutta and Azad got education and joined political career thru’ Khilafat Movement, Congress Party and published Al-Hilal newspaper and opted to stay in India on MK Gandhi’s advice.
1918 – K.K. Birla, industrialist and chairman of HT Media Ltd. 
1923 – Johnny Walker, popular Bollywood comedy actor. born in Indore, moved to Bombay and started a job in BEST as a conductor. His filmi career started with Baazi, became legendary film comedian of 1960s to 1990s. Got popular with a Pyaasa song and later over 300 films viz., Mere Mehboob, Chori Chori, Naya Daur,
Taxi Driver, Madhumati, Kaagaz ke Phool, Shikar etc. His last role was in Chachi 420 . He won 2 Filmfare and other cinema awards.

1924 – Rusi Sheriyar Modi, cricketer. Indian batsman, medium pacer in post-War years. He played 10 Tests and scored a century, 736 Test runs (pic credit-cricketcountry.com).
1936 – Mala Sinha, veteran Bollywood heroine. Born to a Nepali origin Christian parents started as a child artist in Bengali films Jai Vaishno Devi, Shri Krishan Leela, Jog Biyog, Dhooli, Jahanara etc. around 1947. Kedar Sharma caste her in Hindi film Rangeen Raten, Badshah, Ekadashi etc. She was also a dancer and singer in All India Radio for a while. She excelled in Lal Batti, Nausherwan -e- Adil and Phir Subah Hogi. Her acting was excellent in Pyasa, Dhool Ka Phool, Himalaya Ki God Mein, Aassra, Anpadh, Gumrah, Ankhen, Do Kaliyan, Maryada, Devar Bhabhi, Geet, Lalkaar etc. She acted with almost all main heros of that era from 1947 to 1994 and won 2 Bengal Film Journalists Assn. Awards, 1 Screen award and 4 Filmfare Award nominations and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.
1944 – Ritu Kumar, famous fashion designer
1953 – Boney Kapoor, popular film producer, husband of famous heroine Sridevi, eldest brother of Anil Kapoor anf father of actors Janhavi, Khushi and Arjun Kapoor.

1985 – Robin Uthappa, former India opening batsman and wicket -keeper. He’s played for Karnataka in Ranji Trophy, ODIs, T20s and in IPL he played for Mumbai Indian, RCB.

2. Female and male relationships: Two thousand years ago, the position of women in the Hindu society was described a
s, “a woman should never be independent. Her father has authority over her in youth, and in old age her son has authority over her”. However, in post-independence India, there has been some change in the status of women, but mainly among the wealthier women who have had opportunities for education and employment. The older societal male dominated views regarding women still largely prevail in rural areas.
In Christianity also Females got equal status with Males in the early 20th century, yet in the
