2024 – China sets a new world record for the most resistive magnet at 42.02 tesla at Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, creating a magnetic field more than 800,000 times stronger than Earth’s.
Born…. 1956 – Ranjeeta Kaur, popular Bollywood actress known for roles in Akhiyon Ke Jharokhe se, Pati Patni aur Voh, Laila Majnu, Sheela, Superman,Teri Kasam etc. She was nominated thrice to Filmfare award.
1987 – Unni Mukundan, is a Malayalam actor who played PM Narendra Modi in Ma a Vande. Acted in Tamil films like Seedan, Mallu Singh, Style etc. Has won several awards.
1988 – Sana Saeed, Bollywood actor, done some filma nd TV shows. She acted in Student of the Year, Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hai, Lo Ho Gayi Pooja… and TV shows Jhalak Dikhla Ja, Nach Baliye, Fear Factor etc.
RIP…. 1891 – Gangopadhyay Taraknath, revolutionary novelist of Bengal. Wrote stories Bichitra, Golposongroho, Sreshto Golpo and novels Uponibesh-1, 2, 3 and Trophy, Shillipi, Alokporbna etc. He taught in Calcutta University colleges.
1977 – Maulana Abdul Ali Maududi, founder of Jamat-E-Islami. Born in Aurangabad and migrated to Pakistan after Partition in 1947, was an auther, journalist, religious teacher.
