Katha, Chasme Buddoor, and Disha. In 2006, the Government of India honored her with Padma Bhushan.
1939 – Abbas Ali Baig, cricketer (Indian bat 112 on debut v England 1959).

1982 – Acharya J. B. Kripalani, writer, nationalist, parliamentarian, founder of Kissan Mazdoor Dal and president of Indian National Congress in 1946.
1998 – Elamkulam Manakkal Sankaran Namboodiripad, a communist politician and theorist, who served as the first Chief Minister of Kerala state in 1957 – 59 and then again in 1967 – 69. As chief minister, EMS pioneered radical land and educational reforms in Kerala, which helped it become the country’s leader in social indicators.
