Born…. 1944 – Saira Banu,  popular Bollywood  actress. Known for films like  Shagird, Sagina,  Diwana, Bluff Master, Aayee Milan Ki Bela, Jhuk Gaya asmaan,  Bairag, Janglee, Padosan, Bairag, Poorab Aur Paschim,  Shaadi, Balidan Faisla etc. She married legendary actor  Dilip Kumar in 1966.  She was nominated to Filmfare award 4 times and won a Raj Kapoor Film award in   Lifetime Achievement.

1973 – Malaika Arora Khan, Bollywood  choreographer, actor, video jockey, TV  model. Co-founded Arbaaz Khan Productions  with his husband Arbaaz Khan (younger brother of popular actor Salman Khan)  and produced  Dabangg  film series, House Full 2, Happy New Year, Welcome, Dolly Ki Doli etc. 

RIP…. 2000 – Pronindranath Rangarajan Kumaramangalam, Union Power Minister in NDA-I, dies of a massive heart attack at the AIIMS, New Delhi.
