2020 – Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, political activist, falls into a coma after a suspected 
poisoning (later confirmed to be Novichok poisoning). He ultimately died on Feb. 16, 2024.
Born…. 1944 – Rajiv Gandhi, elder son of former PM Indira Gandhi was initially an Airlines pilot but entered politics after the death of his younger son Sanjay Gandhi. Became Prime Minister of India after Indira’s assassination in 1984. He is credited with s
ome innovative and clean politics, Computerisation inn India. But did some wrong decesions like Shah Bano case, sending IPKF to Sri Lanka to control LTTE revolts. He was also assassinated in May 1991. His son Rahul and daughter Priyanka Vadra are now prominent leaders of Congress Party and INDI Gathba
