Born…. 1569 – Jehangir, 4th Mughal king who ruled Delhi from 1605-27. He married 9 times and was the son of famous  king  Akbar. Shah Jehan followed him to the throne.

1943 – Jayanta Hazarika, popular Assamese  song writer called Rana-Da was the younger brother of  legendary singer, musician Bhupen Hazarika. He wrote lyrics and provided music for some of Bhupen’s films also.

1948 – Mahesh Bhatt, popular  film script-writer, director, producer. He started as Assistant  to  veteran Raj Khosla and   his  father Nanabhai Bhatt, a Gujarati  film director. He started his career with  Saraansh,  Manzilen Aur Bhi Hain, Lahu Ke do Rang,  Ashiqui,  Sadak, Daddy, Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahin (launching  his daughter Pooja Bhatt),  Gumraah, Criminal, Ham Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke, Gudia, Tamanna,  Gangster,  Voh  Lamhe,  Raaz,  Zakhm,  Zism,  Murder etc.He won  5  National Film  and  4 Filmfare  awards and  more accolades.

RIP…. 1999 – T. R. Rajakumari,  Thanjavore born  known as  the first Dream Girl of the Tamil silver screen, ruled  for over three  decades. Was a Carnatic dancer, singer  originally. Acted in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada films like Karwan-e-Hayat, Mandharvaavathi,  Haridas,  Devdas,  Kumara Kulothug, Chanderlekha, Maya Nagari etc. She played heroine with legendary Gemini Ganeshan,  MGR and under director of famous SS Vasan. She won several accolades.
