1961 – 1st London minicabs introduced. 1967 – Svetlana Stalin youngest daughter of Russian dictator PM Joseph Stalin, defected to America to seek asylum in the United States. She clandestinely left through Russian Embassy in New Delhi and denounced the tyrany of Communism . 1971 – T
est debut of Sunil Gavaskar vs West Indies at Port-of-Spain in the 2nd Test. He scored 65 and 67 runs in the two innings but he scored centuries later in the series was instrumental in India winning the Series. He went on to be the Fist Indian to score 10,122 Test runs and 34 Centuries beating Australian cricket legend Don Bradman (29) behind. He also captained India in Tests and ODIs.
1983 – First Footbal League founded in America with first match between The Baltimore Colts and New England at Tampa Stadium Florida. Other teams were Los Angeles Raiders, Washington Redskins, Buffalo, Philadelphia etc.
2000 – India and China begin the first ever bilateral security dialogue in Beijing on global and regional issues of mutual interest.
2009 – The Indian Air Force retired the MiG-23 fighter aircraft after three decades of service.
2017 – Wikileaks publishes “Vault 7” CIA documents detailing its hacking and surveillance techniques.

1508 – Nasiruddin Muhammad Humayun, the second Mughal Emperor and son of Babur, was born in Kabul. 1965 – Devki Pandit. Indian classic music composer, singer and actor. Disciple of popular music legend Kishori Amlonkar and Jitendra Abhisheki, she has worked with Hrydaynath Ma

1977 – Jahnavi Kapoor, popular film actres. Daughter of legendary film heroin Sridevi and Boney Kapopr, she is an actress, made her debut in Dharak in 2018, then Kargil Girl, Student of the Year Good Luck Jerry, Gunjan Saxena etc., and upcoming RC 16 with South actor Ram Charan. RIP…. 1836 – Devy Crockett. American military office, politician and businessman, who was known as the King of
Wild Frontier, for his adventures, he represented Tennessee state in the United States House of Representatives and faught for Texas Revolution. 1995 – Arun Tamhankar, the most popular journalist of his times, editor of Manorama Prakashan group died in Bombay. He also wrote Palasdari, Sarpagandha, Shirtekdi, Tumhi Hi Mrtiyu
Talu Shakta and many more novels.
2018 – Shammi, (Nargis Rabadi), the famous Parsi Bollywood actress of Indian cinema (1949-1994) . 2. Built in 1893 by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala, the Chail Cricket Ground in Himachal Pradesh sits at 2,444 meters (feet), making it the world’s highest cricket ground.
