Three arrested in Dwarka murder case
New Delhi, Oct 20 (UNI) A day after a 24-year-old woman was stabbed to death in West Delhi’s Bindapur area, the Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested three men and recovered the murder weapons from their possession.
The police said the victim, Dolly Babbar, was allegedly stabbed to death by a man on the intervening night of 18 and 19 October.
The incident occurred after a birthday party hosted by her friends on the terrace of an under construction building in her neighborhood, said Shankar Choudhary, DCP, Dwarka Delhi.
During the party, accused, Ankit and Dolly, got into a heated argument over some issues, which led to the murder of the 24-year-old freelance event organizer.
A passerby informed the police about the incident that a woman was lying in a pool of blood in a narrow street near Gurudwara Sewa Simran at Gali No. 1 in Uttam Nagar.
The police immediately swung into action, the grievously stabbed woman was rushed to DDU hospital where she was declared brought dead. A local enquiry was conducted in the vicinity and the woman was identified as Dolly Babber, resident of Uttam Nagar, said DCP.
The police formed 6 teams to identify and arrest the accused. The CCTVs installed in the vicinity were analyzed and a local enquiry was conducted. The police noticed that after the incident the trio fled on foot to Vikas Nagar and then took an auto to Anand Vihar. Then they took a bus for Chandigarh after reaching there again they left for Patiala and again the trio came back to Delhi as the police teams were following them and raiding all their possible hideouts in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi which had increased the pressure on them to come back to Delhi.
Later on, again secret information was received about their hideouts in Dwarka Mor, from where Himanshu and Manish were apprehended and based on their information Ankit was apprehended from sector 23 in Dwarka.
While Ankit was trying to escape he jumped from a building and had broken both his legs. The accused have been identified as Ankit Gaba, Himanshu and Manish Sharma.
