Task Force seizes 5 kg IED near Ajnala

Amritsar, Jan 14: Ahead of Republic Day celebrations, the Special Task Force (STF) of Punjab Police seized a five kilograms Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and Rs one lakh in cash on the outskirts of Dhanoa village in Ajnala sub-division near the International Border on Friday.
On a tip-off about the smuggling of drugs, the operation was launched, STF AIG Rashpal Singh said.
The Punjab Police had seized 2.5 kg RDX, one detonator, codex wire, five explosive fuses along with wires, 12 cartridges of AK 47 Assault Rifle from Gurdaspur district on Thursday.
